Saturday afternoon's festival proudly hosts one of the largest Pipe Band contests in the Southeastern US. For the past five years over 30 pipe bands from areas throughout the US and Canada have met on the meadow grounds to determine which is best. Poised near the end of the competition season, the contese is always fierce.
All band contests will be held under the rules and guidelines of the EUSPBA. All competing bands must be registered with the EUSPBA or an affiliated organization. For specific contest rules and regulations, please counsult the EUSPBA official website at www.euspba.org
All competing bands must present themselves to the competition area in proper Scottish/Highland costume.
Contests will be held on Saturday, October 18, 2008.
Travel assistance will be available to the first fifteen (15) out-of town bands based on postmark of entries received. Actual assistance will be based on distance from a band’s official address to Stone Mountain, Georgia as determined by Google maps.
